Wing Chun

Wing Chun is pure self-defense, the goal is simple: to end a violent attack as quickly as possible. For this purpose, logical principles are used. Developed and practiced as a melee system, Wing Chun incorporates all aspects of self-defense: tactics, distance, timing, adaptability, assertiveness, agility, and a practical sense of direct solution.

presence

The world of Wing Chun is now a big business. New tempting promises are added: Wing Tsun for more health, more satisfaction, more work-life balance. As if from a matryoshka doll, in acts of magical self-creation, new providers and demands emerge that carry their skin to market. The point of reference of the Wing Chun at train2protect are not values without measure, the fight against the limp epidermis or experiences, as they can be achieved by water aerobics. Our Wing Chun is about practicability. The goal is to acquire a direct ability to act in an emergency - not the learned procedure (it does not work in an emergency!).

classes

We work conceptually based, our teaching follows a simple idea: the function of Wing Chun is self-defense, as simple and as direct as possible. All necessary principles, structures and techniques result from the six Wing Chun forms, which contain solutions for practical situations. The syllabus and didactics become lean and comprehensible: the central focus is on the sense of function of movements in the context of the application. The principle of simplicity and directness applies, Wing Chun has to work in all situations and situations, in the S-Bahn, on the forest path, in the car, in the parking garage, on the ground etc.

principles

Wing Chun is based on simple principles and logical structures. "Technology" arises and then passes spontaneously and flexibly - defined by the situation.

  • Be aware!

  • Eat space!

  • Attacking at the same time, always simple, always direct, always aggressive!

  • Finish it!

forms

We understand the Wing Chun forms evolutionarily, i. as a carrier of all essential information of a self-defense system that wants to get straight to the point. For the classroom this means: every element of a form has to be clear in the sense of function. Forms include: 1st technique, 2nd structure, and 3rd principles. Understanding the form does not mean that it can be statically (post-) run. The aim is a variable availability of the elements, as the situation requires (improvisational ability in an emergency). The Wing Chun forms are, so to speak, the "table of contents" of our teaching - each student writes from the beginning on his own "book of improvisation".

Control Center & Chi Sao

An important part of the Wing Chun lesson is the so-called Control Center, as well as its subform, the so-called Chi Sao. Man is primarily a visual being. With no other sense channel he can record more information (3.000000bit / sec), calculate cerebral (8bit / sec) and save (short-term memory: 0.7bit / sec). Especially in melee, visual information processing and reflection guidance are quickly overwhelmed. If it gets too much, it reflexively comes to the eyelid closure of the eyes. One idea of the Control Center and Chi Sau is to condition another reliable sensory channel for these situations: tactile information processing (about 200,000bit / sec).

A much more important idea is to see an exercise center of mass control and manipulation in the Control Center. Mediated via arm structures, the center of gravity of the exercise partners are in contact. The goal is to conquer the enemy's center of mass and effectively use the opportunities that arise. It is true that what works, i. E. in a given constellation represents the individually simplest and most direct problem solution.

application

Wing Chun is not a sporty comparison based on mutually accepted rules. The goal from the point of view of Wing Chun is simple: to neutralize the threat situation as easily, quickly and directly as possible. A central aspect, which receives appropriate consideration in every training session, is therefore the application. Shapes and structures are translated into realistic scenarios - at all distances, against one and several opponents, with and without weapons. Questions of the effectiveness of the system and especially the individual ability to implement in terms of variable availability decide here.

We are researching the distribution and genesis of Wing Chun. Here is a recent study on the career of WT in Germany ...

train2protect offers Wing Chun for children from the age of 5, as well as for teenagers and adults.
